Metrics Lexicon
Updated over a week ago

Lexicon is a set of functionalities that enable users of Tagger to understand the metrics that they see in the context of any supported report or view.

Handy tooltips that can be triggered by hovering the mouse provide contextual information about any metrics in Tagger while allowing the user to explore all the available metrics in an intuitive and practical popup UI.

Lexicon functionalities are available in all views of Tagger Campaigns, Signals and Profile.

How can I get access to the Lexicon?

All metrics available in Tagger's components have defined descriptions and are part of our Lexicon knowledge base. Look for the underlined text like "Engagement Rate":

... and simply hover your mouse over this text to see the short description of the metric.

If you're interested in a more detailed description how how the metric is configured or calculated click on "Learn More" to open to the Lexicon popup:

Exploring the Lexicon

You can also use the Lexicon popup to see a summary of all of the metrics that are supported in Tagger. Simply click "back" and see the list of all the metrics that are defined on a post- or profile-level. You can also use the search bar to find any metrics that you're interested in!

What's documented in the Lexicon?

Each metric description includes information about:

  • general definition of the metric

  • sources of the population of metrics' value in Tagger

    • for example, you can easily identify which metrics require the Creator Opt-In and which are populated based on specific actions from the Creator Flow

  • (if applicable) differences between metric behaviors for different social media platforms

  • (if applicable) additional information about how to interpret and best leverage this metric and useful links to any additional customization that's available in Tagger

Tooltips on individual components often contain additional information that relate to the configuration of the component. For example, you may see the details about the aggregation function used in this component (sum vs. average) and any kinds of custom renames or details.

Tooltips on post previews (popups) in Campaigns additionally contain information that relates to a specific data point. For example, you can easily see where the value of the metric originates (e.g. available via Creator Opt-In or calculated by Tagger) and when was it refreshed for the last time:

Our tables are always up-to-date, ensuring they are the most current resource for metrics, alongside the Lexicon. Each metric in the table is based on the Lexicon, and you can hover over any metric to see its definition.
