TikTok Branded Content - a guide for Creators
Updated over a week ago

If you have been requested by your Tagger partner to post content on TikTok using Invite Link or Campaign Code, this guide is for you!

What is Branded Content?

Branded Content is a functionality designed by TikTok specifically to serve content creators like you! It helps to simplify and regulate the relationship between creators and agency/brand partners when it comes to posting commercial content.

You can notice Branded Content videos as they are marked with a special "Paid Partnership" badge:

Whenever you create or edit a TikTok video, you can select the "Branded Content" tab in the menu to access details and settings of this feature.

Why should I use Branded Content toggle?

It allows you to:

  • Mark videos and disclose commercial content without disrupting your creative flow

  • Be compliant with FTC guidelines

  • Automate sharing important metrics with your agency/brand partner

According to TikTok's Branded Content policy, using only sponsored hashtags (like #ad) is not enough! Videos with only hashtags (and no Branded Content toggle) risk being removed by TikTok moderation team for violating policy.

My agency partner wants me to use Invite Link while posting a piece of content

That's great! This is the simplest way for you to create Branded Content. The link that you should receive is generated by Tagger but leads directly to TikTok - it should look like this: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZTRKWWWKS/

If you've already received your dedicated link from your partner, the experience is very simple - just click on a link, accept terms of using TikTok Creator Marketplace and upload your video. That's it

Invite Link is valid only for use in one TikTok account which has been defined by your agency partner. Make sure that you're logged in to the correct TikTok account before proceeding!

We strongly advise against including any giveaways, log-in rewards, or similar content in your branded posts, as it goes against TikTok policies on fraud and scams. Mentioning such content poses a risk of banning your account permanently after a number of violations.

I forgot to use Invite Link and my content is already live!

That's not a problem! You can change your existing piece of content to a Branded Content, but in order to do so, you have to request your agency/brand contact to generate a Campaign Code.

Once you receive the code, you have to:

  1. Click "..." on the piece of content that you want to update

  2. Scroll to the right and click on "Ads settings"

  3. Toggle on "Disclose video content"

  4. Select "Branded content"

  5. Click on "Link campaign" and then "Add campaign code" at the bottom of the page

  6. Paste the received Campaign Code and click "Agree and Continue"

  7. Close the "Link Campaign" box and save all the changes

Is using Invite Links safe?

Using Invite Links or Campaign Codes generated via Tagger is 100% safe - we are a badged TikTok Marketing Partner and we are fully compliant with all their guidelines.

More details about Invite Links and Branded Content toggle can be found on official TikTok's site.
